The Daytime Emmy nominations were announced today.  And if you're a fan of ABC soaps, you may be disappointed by some of the categories.

• There were no nominations for ABC soap actresses in the Outstanding Lead Actress category. All nominees were from CBS soaps. Very upsetting since I could think of  quite a few actresses (especially from GH) who deserved to be nominated.

• In the Lead Actor category, only Anthony Geary of General Hospital was nominated from an ABC soap.

• At least ABC soaps got some love in the Outstanding Supporting Actress category.  The are four ABC actresses nominated in that category : Genie Francis (Laura on GH), Rebecca Herbst (Elizabeth on GH), Renee Elise Goldsberry (Evangeline on OLTL) and Heather Tom (ex-Kelly Kramer on OLTL).

• In the Oustanding Supporting Actor category, Rick Hearst (Rick on GH) and Dan Gauthier (ex-Kevin Buchanan on OLTL) are our ABC nominees.

• In the Oustanding Younger Actress category, Julie Berman (Lulu on GH) and Leven Ramin (Lily on AMC) are our ABC nominees.

• One Life to Live is the only ABC soap nominated in the Outstanding Drama Series category.
